  1. 1. Choose the legal form

The auto-entrepreneur and the individual business are natural-person forms: a single owner, no capital. The auto-entrepreneur pays the IFU at 0.5 % and its turnover is capped at 5,000,000 DZD a year. The individual business falls under the IRG. The EURL has one partner, the SARL has 2 to 50. The SPA needs at least 7 partners and a capital of 1 to 5 M DZD. The form also decides the tax: IBS for the SARL and the SPA, IBS or IRG for the EURL.

  2. 2. The activity code and the agrément

The CNRC activity code decides several things, starting with domiciliation: its first digit, the sector, allows it or not. So look up your code in the nomenclature before anything else. A "free" code only means that the CNRC does not mark it as regulated. It does not prove that no sector authorisation is needed. An activity under agrément has its registered office in your own premises. The agrément guide covers the case.

  3. 3. The registered office and domiciliation

Every company needs a registered office: your own premises under a commercial lease or title deed, or a domiciliation. At Birkhadem, with UpGrowth Connect, domiciliation is possible depending on the first digit of the CNRC code: wholesale trade (3), services (6), export (7) and construction (group 109). It is not possible for production (1), import (4) and retail (5), because the CNRC refuses it. Restaurants and any activity that receives the public in its own premises are never domiciled. We also do not domicile alcohol, pork or gambling. If your activity is not on this list, we check it before answering yes.

  4. 4. The documents of the file

Each Algerian partner or manager provides an identity document (4 copies), a certificate of residence (4 copies) and a criminal record extract no. 3 (1 original, never scanned). They also provide the birth certificate no. 12: 4 originals from the APC if born in Algeria, otherwise 1 original from the Algerian consulate and 4 copies. Of the 4 copies, the notary keeps one and the other 3 go to the administrations: CNRC, tax office and CASNOS. A partner living abroad provides the consular card (4 copies) and brings the original to the notary. The company proposes 5 names. Foreign partners follow another list: passport, apostille and sworn translation.

  5. 5. The notary and the capital

The articles of a SARL or an EURL are signed at the notary, together with the founding assembly and the power of attorney. There is no legal minimum capital (article 566, law 15-20), but in practice the minimum is 100,000 DZD: nobody incorporates below it (UpGrowth practice). At least one fifth of the cash contributions is paid in at creation, that is 20,000 DZD for a capital of 100,000 DZD, and the rest within 5 years (article 567). This payment is deposited at the notary and recovered by cheque after the register: it is the company's cash, not a cost. The SARL appoints a statutory auditor, unless its turnover is under 10,000,000 DZD. The EURL is exempt.

  6. 6. The CNRC and the trade register

Registration is filed at the CNRC, with the complete file prepared in advance. The CNRC asks for the receipt of the stamp duties at every registration (executive decree 15-111, article 25). The official fees are paid in your name, on official receipts. Their detail is on the cost page, further down. The auto-entrepreneur has no trade register: they get their card from the ANAE.

  7. 7. After the register: NIF, tax card, CASNOS, NIS

As soon as the RC is out, request the NIF online: the request takes 5 minutes. Until it is validated, nothing goes to the tax centre (company) or to the tax inspection (individual business). A company then goes to the tax centre for the NIF and the tax card, open every working day like the CASNOS. An individual business files its whole tax file at the tax inspection, which only receives on Sunday and Tuesday. CASNOS affiliation is done within 10 days of the declared start of activity. The NIS comes from the ONS by appointment, about one month after the request: the rest of the file does not wait for it.

  8. 8. The first obligations: CASNOS 2026 and IFU 2026

A non-salaried person's CASNOS is 15 % of the base, not of turnover. Under the flat-rate regime, the base is 25 % of turnover for the sale of goods and 35 % for services. The official minimum is 43,200 DZD a year, generally payable before 1 July, and the first year of activity is calculated on this minimum. The auto-entrepreneur pays the IFU at 0.5 % of turnover (minimum 10,000 DZD a year) and may choose the flat CASNOS of 24,000 DZD a year. The general IFU is 5 % for production and 12 % for services, with a minimum of 30,000 DZD a year. An activity started during the year files the G12 bis before 20 January of the following year.
