Declaration to complete and attach to the company name application form of the Centre National du Registre du Commerce
This sheet accompanies the CNRC company name application form, it does not replace it. The negative certificate is issued by the CNRC on the basis of its own form, filed at the counter or on the sidjilcom.cnrc.dz portal. The sheet below stays in French, the language it is filed in.
How to use this sheet
- Replace every field between square brackets with your own details. They are highlighted in the document.
- Propose several names, ranked by order of preference. The CNRC keeps the first available one, which spares you a second trip if the first is refused.
- Write each proposal in Latin script and in Arabic script. Both transcriptions are recorded.
- Check the trademark with INAPI before filing. A registered trademark prevails over a plain trade name entered in the trade register.
- Keep the proposed name consistent with the declared activity. An obvious mismatch with the activity code can be grounds for refusal.
- Attach the applicant's identity document, the completed CNRC form and the receipt for the fees, plus the power of attorney if a representative files on your behalf.

Worth knowing before you file
- The negative certificate states that no already registered company is using the requested name. It is a document of availability, not a title of ownership under trademark law.
- The period of validity of the reservation is written on the certificate you are handed. Note it down, and set your notary appointment inside that window.
- Copy the name exactly as it appears on the certificate, into the articles of association, into the minutes and onto the registration form. One accent or one space of difference between two documents of the same file is enough to send it back from the counter.
- A refusal can be based on similarity with an existing name, on the use of a reserved term, or on an inconsistency with the declared activity.
- The documents required and the fees due are published by the CNRC and can change. Check them on sidjilcom.cnrc.dz before you travel.
