What changes in the CNRC nomenclature

UpGrowth is a private, independent consulting firm, not attached to any institution. We prepare and follow your file; the decision rests with the CNRC. This guide is free. If you would rather delegate the procedure, we can handle it for you.

The CNRC activity nomenclature is not fixed.

Read the details

The CNRC activity nomenclature is not fixed. Codes disappear, new ones appear, activities become regulated. Nothing is announced when it happens. We read the nomenclature every week and publish here what moved, with the date we observed it.

What this reading comes down to

  • All 4 withdrawn codes belong to the same sector, "Import for Resale", and all carried the status "Blocked" before withdrawal. An activity already closed to registration has now left the nomenclature altogether. If your project rested on one of them, you need a different code.
  • Code 612110, "Payment service provider (regulated activity)", enters the nomenclature directly at status "Regulated". The authorisation falls to THE PRESIDENT OF THE MONETARY AND BANKING COUNCIL. Legal reference: Regulation No. 25-02 of 14 April 2025, setting the conditions for authorisation to incorporate, for licensing and for carrying on the activities of payment service providers.

Codes added5

Absent from our previous reading, present in this one.

Codes withdrawn from the nomenclature4

Present in our previous reading, absent from this one. We keep their pages.

Activities that became regulated2

Status moved to "Regulated". An authorisation or licence is now expected.

Activities freed1

Status opened up since the previous reading.

Why we publish this record

The activity nomenclature is the reference list that decides what you can enter in the trade register. The code you pick drives the status of the activity, the authorisation it may require and the authority that issues it. That reference list moves.

Those movements come with no notice. The portal shows today's state and nothing else: no history, no list of withdrawals, no decision date. Anyone who did not keep yesterday's reading cannot tell what changed between the two.

We keep our successive readings and publish the difference. Someone preparing a file needs to know a code was withdrawn before building the file around it, not at the counter.

How we read the nomenclature

  • We query the CNRC portal every week and keep the reading we obtain.
  • We compare that reading with the previous one, code by code, on the label, the status, the authorisation required and the supervising authority.
  • Every difference becomes a dated entry on this page, then propagates to the page of each code involved.
  • The date shown is the date of our reading. CNRC does not disclose when it decides, and we do not reconstruct it.
  • French and Arabic labels are CNRC's own, reproduced verbatim, typos included. English is our translation.

The first reading published here followed an 89 day gap, from 9 May to 6 August 2026. That is why it is large: it accumulates what moved over close to three months. Later readings cover one week, and a week with no movement produces no entry.

What happens to a withdrawn code

We do not delete the page of a withdrawn code and we do not quietly redirect it. The code existed, files were built around it, and "why did code 422102 disappear" is a question people genuinely ask.

So the page stays online. It states that the code was withdrawn from the nomenclature, gives the date we observed it, and points at the codes that survive in the same subgroup. Where none survives, we say so rather than offering an approximate substitute taken from somewhere else.

Reading a status

CNRC assigns a status to every activity. We keep its vocabulary rather than restating it as something else.

A move from "Free" to "Regulated" changes the file to assemble and adds an authority to satisfy. A move to "Blocked" closes registration. Both appear on this page as soon as we observe them.

StatusWhat it means
FreeRegistrable activity, no specific permit required.
RegulatedRegistration requires a prior authorisation or licence, issued by a supervising authority.
BlockedActivity not authorised for registration in the trade register.
