ALGEX has been dissolved: the essentials in 30 seconds

What replaced ALGEX

• The Organisme algérien des exportations, created by décret exécutif no. 25-234 of 3 September 2025: the direct successor of ALGEX for export promotion, with a single window and a digital platform.
• The Organisme algérien de l'importation, created by décret exécutif no. 25-233 of the same day: a public administrative body responsible for monitoring and overseeing imports.
• Décret exécutif no. 25-235 dissolves ALGEX and transfers its assets, rights, obligations and personnel to the export body.
• Both bodies report to the ministry in charge of foreign trade.
• All three decrees are dated 3 September 2025 and published in Journal Officiel no. 60.

What ALGEX used to do (and who took it over)

• Promoting Algerian non-hydrocarbon products abroad.
• Organising participation in international trade fairs and exhibitions.
• Market studies and introductions to foreign buyers.
• Training in international trade techniques.
• Managing the Export Promotion Fund support (co-financing of studies, B2B missions and promotional campaigns).
• These missions now sit with the Organisme algérien des exportations. The coverage rates ALGEX used to advertise (50 to 80 % depending on the programme) can no longer be presented as being in force: ask the new body or your wilaya trade directorate for the current schedule before committing any spend.

What an exporter should do today

• Check that your trade register explicitly mentions the export activity (CNRC).
• Obtain the exporter card from the CACI, which is still in force.
• Assemble the usual documentary base: export trade register, NIF, company presentation and catalogue, up to date CNAS/CASNOS certificates, prospecting plan, provisional quotes.
• File your application with the Organisme algérien des exportations or your wilaya trade directorate, no longer with ALGEX.
• Do not reuse a form or a template letter addressed to the "Director General of ALGEX": it will be rejected.
• If an ALGEX file was in progress before September 2025, get its status confirmed in writing: rights and obligations were transferred to the new body.
