  • The tasks of the central pharmacy are to:
  • To supply public health institutions with pharmaceutical products and medical devices as part of the process of buying on behalf of these establishments. The list of products shall be determined by decision of the Minister for Health;

  • To market pharmaceutical products to approved establishments responsible for the distribution of pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical pharmacies;
  • Carry out measures to regulate the supply of pharmaceutical products in accordance with the legislation and regulations in force;
  • Manufacture medicines, including generic medicines;
  • The packaging of pharmaceutical products;
  • Establish retail outlets for pharmaceutical products intended to ensure the availability of products throughout the national territory;
  • The central pharmacy is responsible for:
  • To supply public health institutions with pharmaceutical products for the treatment of rare diseases and life-threatening diseases. The lists of the diseases and pharmaceutical products concerned shall be established by order of the Minister for Health;
  • To supply public health institutions with pharmaceutical products, as part of national prevention programmes and national health plans. The list of national preventive programmes and national health plans and related pharmaceuticals shall be determined by the Minister for Health.
