Activity contents

• The mission of opera is to promote, perform and broadcast lyrical, choreographic and orchestral, classical and contemporary art and to promote the creation and representation of these works and all expressions related to the art of the stage.
• Under the trade missions, the opera is responsible for:
• To produce, co-produce and perform creative works in the fields of opera, such as operettas, musical tales, lyrical and polyphonic songs and all expressions related to the art of the stage and to market them;
• To produce, co-produce and present lyrical, choreographic and musical performances and concerts
• Orchestral at the request of public and private bodies in a conventional setting;
• To co-produce and co-organise any artistic event in relation to its object within a conventional framework;
• To constitute the artistic repertoire of the opera of Algiers composed of classical, contemporary and heritage works;
• To publish, on all media, the products of its repertoire and artistic products related to lyrical, choreographic and orchestral art and to market them;
• Contribute to the training and development of singers, musicians, singers, choreographers and dancers in a conventional setting;
• Participate in training in technical occupations related to the performing arts in a conventional setting;
• A balanced tariff policy.
• As part of the public service missions, the opera is responsible for:
• Promote and disseminate lyrical, choreographic and orchestral works by making them available to a wide audience;
• To produce and co-produce lyrical, choreographic and orchestral works on behalf of the State;
• To create a documentary background on the lyrical, choreographic and orchestral heritage;
• Participate in the selection and training of young talents who, by the originality and innovative character of their works, can integrate the artistic activities of opera;
• Participate in training in technical occupations related to the performing arts;
• To initiate and maintain cooperation and exchanges with similar cultural institutions;
• To participate in the organisation of colloquiums and conferences and in any study or research relating to its object (in accordance with the provisions of Articles 06,07, 08 of Executive Decree No. 16-206 of 25 July 2016, establishing the opera d'Alger and establishing its organisation and operation).

How to start this activity in Algeria

Official procedure, ordering of steps, and realistic timelines

1. Step 1: Choose the right legal form

   The activity "Opera" is free, no prior licence needed. Choose between auto-entrepreneur (ANAE, 5M DZD/year cap for services), sole-trader, single-member LLC (EURL) or LLC (SARL) depending on your project and number of partners.

   Day 1

2. Step 2: CNRC registration

   For SARL/EURL: notarised articles + share capital. For sole trader or auto-entrepreneur: simplified file. In every case, request the company name then the Trade Register extract from CNRC.

   3 to 7 days

3. Step 3: Tax and social registrations

   Tax ID (NIF), social ID (NIS for manager), CNAS affiliation if employees, tax card. You can immediately operate "Opera" in Algeria without any further ministry-level step.
