Activity contents

• The agency is the state's instrument for planning, managing and controlling the use of radio spectrum.
• Within this framework, it is responsible for:
• To carry out studies with a view to making optimal use of the radio frequency spectrum for which it ensures a periodic review of its use and proposes the necessary adjustments;
• To draw up the national regulations on radiocommunications and to lay down national rules and procedures for the allocation of frequency bands, the establishment and updating of the national table for the distribution of frequency bands and national and sectoral radio frequency assignment files;
• Develop and update the national frequency band allocation table and the national and sectoral radio frequency assignment files;
• To develop and update the national radio site register and the establishment of radio stations, in conjunction with the National High Points Commission;
• To assign the frequency bands;
• To assign frequencies in shared bands;
• To notify national assignments to the International Telecommunication Union International Frequency Registry;
• To issue licences to operate radio stations for vessels flying the national flag;
• Ensure that all radiocommunication services monitor the station's compliance;
• Organise and assign call signs and the identities of the Maritime Mobile Service (MSMSI) of the coastal radio and ship stations of the national flag and notify them to the International Telecommunication Union and the International Maritime Organisation;
• The settlement of harmful interference caused or suffered by any radio station on Algerian territory;
• Develop training programmes for radio operators with the exception of programmes for aircraft operators;
• Organise examination sessions and issue radio operator certificates with the exception of certificates for aircraft operators;
• Participate in the training of ship station operators in specialized training institutions;
• To ensure, by coastal marine radio stations, permanent watch over all maritime distress and safety frequencies (in accordance with the provisions of Article 03 of Executive Decree No 02-97 of 2 March 2002, as amended and supplemented, establishing the national frequency agency).

1. Step 1: Choose the right legal form

   The activity "National Frequency Agency" is free, no prior licence needed. Choose between auto-entrepreneur (ANAE, 5M DZD/year cap for services), sole-trader, single-member LLC (EURL) or LLC (SARL) depending on your project and number of partners.

2. Step 2: CNRC registration

   For SARL/EURL: notarised articles + share capital. For sole trader or auto-entrepreneur: simplified file. In every case, request the company name then the Trade Register extract from CNRC.

   3 to 7 days

3. Step 3: Tax and social registrations

   Tax ID (NIF), social ID (NIS for manager), CNAS affiliation if employees, tax card. You can immediately operate "National Frequency Agency" in Algeria without any further ministry-level step.
