  • Organise and assign call signs and the identities of the Maritime Mobile Service (MSMSI) of the coastal radio and ship stations of the national flag and notify them to the International Telecommunication Union and the International Maritime Organisation;
  • The settlement of harmful interference caused or suffered by any radio station on Algerian territory;
  • Develop training programmes for radio operators with the exception of programmes for aircraft operators;
  • Organise examination sessions and issue radio operator certificates with the exception of certificates for aircraft operators;
  • Participate in the training of ship station operators in specialized training institutions;
  • To ensure, by coastal marine radio stations, permanent watch over all maritime distress and safety frequencies (in accordance with the provisions of Article 03 of Executive Decree No 02-97 of 2 March 2002, as amended and supplemented, establishing the national frequency agency).
