- The duties of private institutions are to provide specialized education and education for mentally disabled children aged three (3) years until completion of their school curriculum, and to ensure their health, safety, development and well-being.
- Private institutions are responsible for providing specialized education and education, as well as psychological and pedagogical care for children with mental disabilities, in accordance with the programmes and methods established by the Ministry of National Solidarity.
- They are responsible for:
- Develop and implement the educational project of the private school;
- Ensure early education and school support for learning;
- Provide motor education and/or functional rehabilitation, psychological follow-up and speech rehabilitation;
- Ensure the awakening and development of the relationship between the mentally disabled child and his or her environment;
- Promote the development and development of intellectual, emotional and physical capacities, as well as the social and professional autonomy of the mentally disabled child;
- Develop the personality, sense of communication and social integration of the mentally disabled child;
- Provide support to the family of the mentally disabled child;
- To implement appropriate physical education and sport programmes;
- Develop appropriate cultural, recreational and recreational activities for mentally disabled children;
- Promote the integration of mentally disabled children into mainstream schools and/or vocational training.
- Private institutions may also take care of children with autism spectrum disorders in reserved spaces for this purpose (in accordance with the provisions of articles 03, 10, 11 of Executive Decree No. 18-221 of 6 September 2018 laying down the conditions for the establishment, organisation, operation and supervision of private educational and special education institutions for mentally disabled children).
