Micro-import activity

"Micro-import activity" is domain 080000 of the official ANAE nomenclature. It holds a single activity, code 080101, and it is the only activity on the list that is not a service: goods bought abroad are resold in Algeria.

That activity has a regime of its own, set by executive decree n° 25-170 of 28 June 2025: at most 1,800,000 DA per trip, two trips a month, card and general authorisation. The ordinary auto-entrepreneur ceiling of 5,000,000 DA is not its limit. The detail is in the "Micro-importation: a regime of its own" block below.

Micro-importation: a regime of its own

Micro-importation (ANAE code 080101) is not an ordinary activity of the auto-entrepreneur status: it has a regime of its own, set by executive decree n° 25-170 of 28 June 2025 (JO n° 40 of 2025). The ordinary auto-entrepreneur turnover ceiling of 5,000,000 DA a year is not the limit of this activity: its limits are those of the decree.

  • What it covers (art. 2, 3 and 8): imports made personally by a natural person with auto-entrepreneur status, during trips abroad, for resale in Algeria, of limited quantities of goods worth at most 1,800,000 DA per trip, at most two trips a month. The annual tourist allowance is not counted. Any excess is forbidden.
  • Documents required (art. 6, 11 and 12): the auto-entrepreneur card must carry the micro-importation domain or activity (ANAE, code 080101), together with a general authorisation from the Ministry of Foreign Trade, issued within five (5) working days, valid for one (1) year, renewable, personal and non-transferable. Actually carrying on the activity is conditional on it.
  • Conditions (art. 5 and 7): legal working age, Algerian nationality and residence in Algeria, no other paid activity (salaried, commercial or liberal profession), CASNOS affiliation, a foreign-currency account at the Banque extérieure d'Algérie (BEA), financing from one's own foreign currency. The activity ends entitlement to unemployment benefit.
  • Advantages (art. 4): simplified accounting on a register numbered and initialled by the tax services, no trade register, no prior import authorisations, a 5 % customs duty and a specific tax regime under the legislation in force. The decree does not give a rate for that tax regime: its detail is on the dedicated page.
  • Obligations (art. 6, 13 and 14): declare the goods before each import on the digital platform of the ministry in charge of start-ups, linked to Customs; labels (name, address, designation, origin) and simplified delivery notes; products must have more than half of their shelf life left at import.
  • Excluded (art. 9): prohibited goods and sensitive products, sensitive equipment (executive decree n° 09-410), pharmaceutical products, goods needing special authorisations, goods harmful to security, public order or morals.
  • Registration (art. 10): in the national auto-entrepreneur register, under executive decree n° 23-197.
